Tipped Ear

The universal external sign of a spayed or neutered cat is a "tipped" left ear. Ear tipping is done while a cat is under anesthesia for spay or neuter surgery, and involves removing approximately 1/4" from the top of the left ear. A cat with a tipped ear will not be trapped again as part of a trap-neuter-return program.
